Judith L. Outten, M.D. is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. She practices in community Psychiatry at clinics across the state, and also privately. She works with children and teens with a variety of disorders, including drug and alcohol abuse and dependence.

Dr. Outten attended East Carolina School of Medicine in Greenville, North Carolina, and then went on to complete an internship and residency in General Adult Psychiatry at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She trained at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia Child Guidance Center, before completing her training in Child and Adolescent Fellowship at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo, in Buffalo, New York.

Dr. Outten is an advocate for children with mental disorders and special needs and participates in many community events around these issues. Her practice includes work with children from the foster care system. She has written several children’s books and hopes to soon publish her first book, The Shoebox Kid, about a foster child who finds a home.
